Avis India, a joint venture between The Oberoi Group and Avis Budget Group, a leading global provider of vehicle rental services, and a provider of premium chauffeur driven car rental and 360 mobility solutions, has introduced a new airport transfer offering starting at ₹1,150, making chauffeur driven travel to and from airports more accessible for travellers. The new offering provides a two hour, 20 kilometre package for a single airport pickup or drop, available across Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai.
With air travel becoming an increasingly routine part of everyday mobility, the requirements around airport transfers are also evolving. For many travellers, the journey to or from the airport is a short, time bound trip that does not require the longer booking durations traditionally associated with chauffeur driven services. Chauffeur driven mobility in India has historically been structured around full day or extended bookings, particularly for corporate and business travel. Avis India’s new airport transfer format is designed around the specific requirements of shorter point to point journeys, offering greater flexibility while retaining the service standards the brand has built over more than 25 years in the Indian market.
“A chauffeur-driven ride has long been seen as a premium that is hard to justify for a short airport run, and the category has kept asking customers to book long,” said Aman Naagar, Managing Director, Avis India. “The way people fly has changed, and reaching the airport has to change with it. We have built a format around the airport journey itself, so travellers pay for what the trip actually needs. The ₹1,150 starting fare is what that flexibility makes possible.”
Every chauffeur is hand-picked and third-party verified, and clears repeated rounds of defensive-driving and soft-skills training before the first assignment. The cars are GPS enabled with real-time trip tracking, run on comprehensive insurance and valid permits, and a dedicated 24×7 contact centre sits behind each trip. For women travellers, in-car assistance and the Avis Secure Desk add reassurance at both the pickup and the drop.
