US envoy meets L&T CMD Subrahmanyan

Posted on August 6, 2026
US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, on Wednesday said he had a “great meeting” with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman and Managing Director S. N. Subrahmanyan to discuss how the engineering and technology major can contribute to industrial and energy development across India and the United States.
Gor shared the update in a post on X, highlighting the importance of strengthening collaboration between the two countries in key infrastructure and energy sectors.
“A great meeting with Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan to chart how @larsentoubro can support industrial and energy development in the United States and India!” Gor said in the post.
The meeting comes at a time when India and the United States continue to deepen cooperation across strategic sectors, including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, and emerging technologies. Both countries have been expanding partnerships aimed at building resilient supply chains, accelerating industrial growth, and promoting sustainable economic development.
Larsen & Toubro, one of India's leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, has a significant presence across infrastructure, energy, defence, heavy engineering, technology services, and manufacturing. The company has also been strengthening its global footprint through projects and partnerships in multiple international markets, including North America.
Under the leadership of S. N. Subrahmanyan, L&T has focused on expanding its capabilities in clean energy, green hydrogen, digital engineering, semiconductor infrastructure, AI-ready data centres and advanced manufacturing solutions. The company has also announced investments in future-ready technologies and continues to play a key role in delivering large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
Industry observers believe that closer engagement between leading Indian companies and US stakeholders could create new opportunities in energy transition, industrial manufacturing, engineering services, and technology-led infrastructure development. Such collaborations are expected to support innovation, investment, and job creation while strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
While no specific agreements or project announcements were disclosed following the meeting, the interaction reflects the growing emphasis on enhancing India-US cooperation through partnerships with industry leaders. As both countries pursue long-term infrastructure and energy goals, companies like L&T are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting large-scale industrial and sustainable development initiatives.
