Greenply Launches a First-of-Its-Kind Green Commitment, ‘Naam Se Hi Nahi, Kaam Se Bhi Green’

Posted on June 10, 2026

From Forest to Factory to Future — Greenply Lives Its Name.

On World Environment Day, Greenply Industries Limited made a promise — not a pledge on paper, but a commitment embedded into every plywood sheet it sells. As the next step in its series of initiatives of ‘Naam Se Hi Nahi, Kaam Se Bhi Green’, the company today announced that every Greenply plywood sheet supplied will contribute to the plantation of one tree. This is not a campaign with a deadline. It is a standing promise: as long as Greenply sells, India grows greener.

In a country where forests are as vital as infrastructure, Greenply believes the wood panel industry carries a unique responsibility: to restore what it uses and give back more than it takes. With every plywood sheet supplied contributing to the plantation of one tree, every homeowner, architect, carpenter, dealer, and channel partner becomes an active participant in India’s green future — not by changing what they buy, but simply by choosing Greenply.

Commenting on the initiative, Rajesh Mittal, Chairman cum Managing Director, Greenply Industries Limited, said,

“At Greenply, our guiding principle has always been to give back to nature more than what we take. Our commitment to plant one tree for every plywood sheet supplied is that principle in action. Sustainability for us is not just about the products we make — it is about the leadership we demonstrate, the responsibility we own, and the livelihoods we help support through plantation initiatives that benefit farming communities. With the promise of Naam se hi nahi, kaam se bhi Green, every Greenply purchase takes you a step towards a greener future.”

What This Promise Means

Under this commitment, every Greenply plywood sheet suppliedfor infrastructure development will contribute to the plantation of one tree. This is not a one-time activation, but a long-term initiative embedded into Greenply’s ‘Naam Se Hi Nahi, Kaam Se Bhi Green’ philosophy. Every purchase makes homeowners, architects, interior designers, carpenters, dealers, traders, and channel partners active participants in environmental restoration. No extra action is required; choosing Greenply itself becomes the contribution.

Building on a Decade of Green Action

This promise is not Greenply’s first step — it is the next, and most ambitious one yet. The company has already crossed the milestone of 90 million plantations and is now working towards its goal of 100 million plantations. Greenply’s broader sustainability ecosystem includes:

·         Plantation initiatives across multiple regions of India around Greenply’s manufacturing plants.

·         Responsible and certified timber sourcing practices.

·         Agroforestry initiatives to enhance farmer livelihoods and productivity.

·         Renewable energy adoption across all manufacturing facilities.

The initiative of planting one tree for every plywood sheet supplied for infrastructure development further strengthens this commitment by turning every consumer purchase into a step towards environmental responsibility. As India advances its sustainability ambitions, Greenply’s promise positions the brand not just as a product leader, but as a contributor to ecological renewal.
