Coromandel International Enhances Workshop Facility at ITI Atali in Gujarat

New Lathe Machine and Refurbished Workshop to Boost Industrial Skill Development

Coromandel International Limited, a leading agri-solutions provider, has upgraded the workshop facility at Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Atali, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The enhanced facility is aimed at empowering students with hands-on industrial skills and creating a more effective learning environment. This initiative reflects Coromandel International’s ongoing commitment to community development, with a focus on supporting education and skill-building for young people.

The enhanced workshop was formally handed over in the presence of Mr. Sandip Ahir, HR Head – Dahej, along with Mr. Ashish Patel, Plant Finance Head; The event also witnessed enthusiastic participation from ITI faculty, students, and Mr. R. N. Patel, Principal In-charge of ITI Atali.

The upgrade project included comprehensive civil repairs, electrical refurbishments, painting with eco-friendly materials, and a significant overhaul of workshop equipment. A major highlight of the initiative was the installation of a new lathe machine, strengthening the practical training capabilities of the institution. In addition, existing machinery was repaired and recalibrated to meet current industry standards, ensuring students gain exposure to modern tools and technologies.

Currently, 158 youth from nearby communities are benefiting from the facility. The initiative significantly enhances the operational capacity of the Skill Development Centre while promoting livelihood opportunities for underprivileged youth in the Dahej region. Through such efforts, Coromandel is actively contributing to bridging the skill gap and equipping local talent to meet evolving industry needs.

Mr. R. N. Patel, Principal In-charge of ITI Atali commented “We are deeply grateful to Coromandel International for their generous CSR support in enhancing our technical training infrastructure. The repair and renovation of two of our key workshops, along with the provision of a new lathe machine, have significantly improved the hands-on learning experience for our students. This support not only strengthens our capacity to deliver quality vocational education but also empowers our students with industry-relevant skills. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arun Leslie George, President & CHRO said, “Vocational training is a strong pillar for community progress. The handover event concluded with a tour of the refurbished workshop and an interaction with students. The ITI faculty expressed their gratitude to Coromandel for the timely support and emphasized the positive impact the improved facilities will have on learning outcomes.
