Posted on June 11, 2026

India's Top-Ranked Private Container Port and Second-Highest Performing Container Port Overall

APM Terminals Pipavav has been ranked 28th globally in the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2025, making it India's highest-ranked private container port and the second-highest ranked container port in the country.

The port achieved a CPPI score of 92.6, reflecting its strong operational performance, vessel turnaround efficiency, service reliability, and continued focus on delivering value to customers and supply chains.

Published jointly by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, the CPPI is widely regarded as one of the leading global benchmarks for measuring container port performance, based on vessel time spent in port and overall operational efficiency.

The ranking marks an important milestone in Pipavav's journey of continuous improvement. Over the past six years, the port has improved its CPPI score from 78 in 2020 to 92.6 in 2025, demonstrating sustained progress in operational excellence, infrastructure capability, process optimisation, and customer service.

Commenting on the achievement, Girish Aggarwal, Managing Director, APM Terminals Pipavav, said:

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our employees, the trust of our customers, and the strength of our partnerships across the maritime and logistics ecosystem. Improving from a CPPI score of 78 in 2020 to 92.6 in 2025 demonstrates what can be achieved through a relentless focus on safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

While we are proud of this achievement, we remain focused on raising the bar even further for our customers and stakeholders. As India's trade volumes continue to grow, we will continue investing in the capabilities, processes, and people needed to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable port operations.”

Pipavav's performance reflects its continued focus on vessel productivity, operational reliability, digitalisation, and process excellence, enabling customers to benefit from efficient and predictable supply chain performance.

The achievement further strengthens APM Terminals Pipavav's position as a key gateway for India's international trade and a trusted partner for global shipping lines, exporters, importers, and logistics providers.
