Team Telangana Clinches American Flag Football Title

* Beats Kerala in nail-biting finals
* Women's title goes to Rajasthan

The Telangana team has won the American Flag Football Nationals 2023 title in a nail-biting final match against Kerala. The final match was held in the Gymkhana grounds of Hyderabad on Sunday. Telangana has scored 16 points, whereas the opponent Kerala could score only 8 points. In the team Telangana, Veera Manikantha Reddy, and Sudhir Yadav scored 6 points each, and Santosh Sandri scored 4 points. The Telangana team has beaten Rajasthan and entered the finals. Team Kerala won against Karnataka to be Telangana's opponent in the final match. In the women's category, Rajasthan won over Kerala to reach the finals, and UP won over Karnataka to reach the finals.

The Rajasthan women's team has won the title in the final match against Uttar Pradesh. Rajasthan has made 8 goals, and UP could get only 6. Rajasthan won over Kerala to reach the finals, and UP won over Karnataka to reach the finals.

The competition in both of the final matches was very immense among the players. Telangana team captains Sudheer Yadav Boini and Veera Manikanta Reddy performed exceptionally well to clinch the title. Coach Praveen Reddy Chintala's coaching and mentoring made the team enhance skills to the next level with more confidence and motivation to align with team goals. Venkatesh Movva, who is the senior vice president of AFFI and founder of regen ortho sport has been backing the Telangana team for the past 10 years.

Namdev Shirgaonkar, Ex joint secretary of IOA, Secretary General of the Maharashtra Olympic Association, and Founder of AMERICAN FOOTBALL in India, along with Dr. Sandeep Chaudhari CEO of AFFI witnessed the finals.

“It's very happy to note that Telangana Men's and Rajasthan Women's teams have won the American Flag Football Nationals 2023 titles in respective categories. This is not like the regular football that we know. This game is entirely different. It's not so easy to win in such a tough fight. All the teams played extremely well. I wish most of the team members get a berth in the national team to showcase their talent in the international arena”, said Koutike Vittal, Brand Ambassador, Flag Football, India.
