Chinmaya Mission Chennai hosted the Tamil Gita Chanting Competition 2025 Prize Distribution Ceremony at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Taylors Road, celebrating devotion, discipline, and cultural learning among students across Tamil Nadu.
Shri O.V. Nambiar, President, Chinmaya Mission Chennai, welcomed the gathering. Swami Mitrananda, Head of Chinmaya Mission Chennai, offered the benediction, highlighting the versification of the Bhagavad Gita in Tamil as a heartfelt offering to the founder, H.H. Swami Chinmayananda, in the 75th year of the Mission. He announced that the Tamil Gita Chanting Competitions will henceforth be an annual event, enabling students to imbibe the Gita early in life.
Swami Sureshananda, Chinmaya Mission Chennai, delivered a special address tracing the creative process of versification and its impact, including the recording collaboration with Shri Ilayaraja. He emphasized the profound learning experience this initiative has brought to the community.
The event featured chanting by the finalists, showcasing their dedication and reverence.
