Bharti Airtel Foundation and the CK-12 Foundation LaunchOne of India’s Most Comprehensive AI-Integration for Teacher Empowerment

In a significant step towards accelerating AI adoption in India’s education ecosystem, Bharti Airtel Foundation has partnered with the CK-12 Foundation, a global nonprofit, to integrate 45+ AI-enabled teaching toolsacross all K-12 teachers into TheTeacherApp, a free‑for‑life digital learning platform currently used by over 2 lakh educatorsnationwide. Designed to address real classroom needs, the AI-enabledTheTeacherApp will support everyday classroom practice, enabling teachers to save time, enrich instruction, and address diverseteaching requirement with tools that are safe, contextual, and fully aligned with India’s evolving education landscape.

 

Anchored in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047,the partnership marks a shift from digital access to a more meaningful digital engagement for teachers. While TheTeacherApp has long supported educators through training and learning resources, its new AI-enabled version embeds an assistive layer directly into teachingworkflows, providing real time, classroom aligned support and seamless access to relevant content across all grades, all subjects.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education of India, said, “The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has given us a clear roadmap to transform education, and our focus remains on supporting teachers every step of the way. Teachers need quality resources that meet the diverse needs of every learner at every grade level, and today AI is no longer a luxury – it is a necessity. This initiative marks a transformative step in leveraging technology to empower our educators. Having been part of TheTeacherApp’s launch in 2024, it is inspiring to witness this next step supporting the integration of AI into the classrooms across India.”

Built on two decades of grassroots insights and best practices from the Satya Bharti Schools run by the Bharti Airtel Foundation, TheTeacherApp has grown into a national digital ecosystem. It now offers 2,500+ hours of training, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and digital literacy modules, child safety content, teaching resources and a collaborative Teachers’ Lounge, anchored by strong state and institutional partnerships, including NITI Aayog, to deliver scalable, long-term public value.

 

Through this partnership, Bharti Airtel Foundation and CK‑12 strengthen teaching quality and put educators at the centre of India’s education journey. Combining CK‑12’s adaptive tools with TheTeacherApp’s reach, the collaboration empowers teachers and ensures technology supports India’s long-term vision for inclusive, future-ready education.
