Ambuja Cements’ After School Sports Programme Nurtures Young Talent, Selected for Punjab Kho-Kho Team

EDITOR’S SYNOPSIS

·         Two students from the Ambuja Cements’ Bathinda After School Centre have been selected for the Punjab Kho-Kho Team following U-14 trials in Patiala.

·         The selections are linked to the 35th Sub Junior National Kho-Kho Championship to be held in Kurukshetra from 31 January to 4 February 2026.

·         An Ambuja Cements -supported After School Coach has also been selected as Coach of the Punjab Girls Team.

Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, continues to strengthen grassroots sports development through its nationwide After School Sports Programme as part of its CSR, with young athletes like from Bathinda centre achieving state-level recognition.

Following the U-14 Kho-Kho trials conducted by the Punjab State Association in Patiala, two students from the Ambuja Cements supported GSSS Buladewala School  (one boy and one girl) have been selected for the Punjab Kho-Kho Team, which will compete at the 35th Sub Junior National Kho-Kho Championship in Kurukshetra, Haryana, from 31 January to 4 February 2026.

The selected students are Anmol Singh, son of Gurpreet Singh and a Class 8 student, and Kiranpal Kaur, daughter of Jagtar Singh and a Class 7 student. In addition, Sukhpreet, the After School Coach, has been selected as the Coach of the Punjab Girls Team and will accompany the team to the championship.

The Bathinda After School Centre is part of Ambuja Cements’ nationwide After School Sports Programme, aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent while promoting holistic development through sports with specific focus on athletics and kho-kho
