·         In Parmadoh village, beneficiary Murlidhar Waralu There received timely support for his eye surgery through the scheme, facilitated by local Sangini Mamatai Vabhitkar.

·         The intervention ensured treatment at no personal cost, restored his vision, and encouraged other villagers to access government benefits.

ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, is strengthening rural communities in Maharashtra through the Meri Sangini Meri Margdarshika (MSMM) programme. One such inspiring impact can be seen in Parmadoh village of Chandrapur district, where Murlidhar Waralu There, a farmer from an economically weaker family, regained his eyesight and livelihood security with the programme’s support.

For months, Murlidhar had been struggling with an eye disease. Though doctors recommended surgery, financial constraints made it impossible for him to proceed. He was also unaware of the benefits available under government schemes. This changed when village Sangini Mamatai Vabhitkar, as part of the MSMM initiative, learned about his condition during a community awareness meeting. She immediately guided him on the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, helped with documentation, and ensured his enrolment in the scheme.

Through this intervention, the cost of Murlidhar’s surgery was fully covered by the government, saving him an expense of nearly ₹20,000. The operation was completed successfully, restoring his eyesight and enabling him to return to normal daily activities. Inspired by this, other villagers also began enrolling in the scheme, with over 160 new beneficiaries accessing its benefits in Parmadoh alone.

The transformation of Murlidhar’s life underscores how grassroots facilitation under the Meri Sangini Meri Margdarshika programme is creating awareness and enabling rural families to access welfare schemes. Through the efforts of Sanginis like Mamatai Vabhitkar, ACC is enabling rural communities in Chandrapur to access better healthcare, achieve financial stability, and experience inclusive development.
