DHL Express appoints Sandeep Juneja to lead the business in South Asia and India

Posted on November 2, 2026

  • Sandeep is an experienced DHL leader who will build on a strong foundation, deepen customer partnerships and capture growth opportunities across India and South Asia
  • Sandeep Juneja takes over from R. S. Subramanian, who has been appointed to lead Blue Dart

DHL Express has appointed Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director for India, effective November 1, 2026. He succeeds R. S. Subramanian, who will move to Blue Dart as the Managing Director. In his new role, Sandeep will focus on strengthening customer partnerships, capturing growth opportunities and delivering sustainable business growth.

Sandeep brings more than three decades of professional experience, including over two decades with DHL Express, having joined the organization in 2004. A member of the India Management Board since 2007, he has held senior leadership responsibilities across sales, marketing and commercial functions. He began leading the country's commercial function in 2013 and continued to develop a deep understanding of the Indian market and the drivers of business growth.

Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific, DHL Express said, “India and South Asia are among the most dynamic markets in our region, with significant opportunities for businesses to grow their international footprint and participate in global trade. Capturing that opportunity requires strong market knowledge, close customer relationships and an organization that can translate ambition into sustainable growth. Sandeep brings all three. I look forward to seeing him build on that robust foundation and lead our business into the next phase of growth.”

According to the DHL Globalization Tracker, South & Central Asia is forecast to record the second fastest trade growth over the 2026–29 period, just behind the Middle East & North Africa. Additionally, with India having signed trade agreements with the EU, UK, EFTA, New Zealand, and Oman, businesses can diversify their trade partners, strengthen supply chain resilience, and sustain growth. With its global network, international expertise and service capabilities, DHL Express plays an important role in helping businesses access these opportunities. Under Sandeep's leadership, the business will continue to strengthen customer relationships, develop its people, and deliver the reliability and service customers expect.

In his current role, Sandeep has played a key role in shaping DHL Express India's commercial strategy and strengthening its market position. His work spans customer development, strategic pricing, digitalization and new growth opportunities, with a consistent focus on profitable growth and customer value. His experience combines commercial acumen with a broad understanding of the business and the ability to translate market opportunities into results.

Sandeep Juneja, SVP-designate for South Asia and Managing Director for India, DHL Express, said, “It is a privilege to lead a business I have been part of for more than two decades. With India and Bangladesh among our Group's high-growth markets, there are significant opportunities for businesses to expand across the region. Building on R S Subramanian’s strong foundation, my focus will be on our customers, our people and delivering sustainable growth and excellent service.”

Beyond India, Sandeep will also oversee countries across South Asia, covering Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
