HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited Targets ₹3,000 Crore Revenue by 2030 with Manufacturing and GLP-1 Expansion

Posted on July 29, 2026
HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited is targeting revenues of ₹2,500–₹3,000 crore by 2030 by expanding its manufacturing footprint, strengthening research and development, diversifying its product portfolio, and accelerating its global presence. The strategy is supported by significant investments in advanced manufacturing, specialty therapies, and innovation-led product development, said Saurabh Agarwal, Director at HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited. To support this vision, the company is commissioning two advanced manufacturing facilities that are expected to begin commercial production by August 2026. The first is a sterile manufacturing plant dedicated to semaglutide, prefilled syringes, injectables, vials, and lyophilised products, while the second is a fully automated closed-loop oral solid dosage (OSD) facility. In addition, the company has acquired a 44,000-square-foot manufacturing unit in Dehradun for future expansion. Manufacturing operations at HAB Pharma Selaqui will also play a key role in supporting the company's long-term production and growth plans, added Urvee Garg, Director at HAB Pharma.
Expanding Portfolio Across High-Growth Therapeutic Areas
As part of its expansion strategy, the company is strengthening its portfolio across metabolic care, gastrointestinal disorders, central nervous system therapies, pain management, ophthalmology, critical care, specialty generics, biologics, and monoclonal antibodies, according to Saurabh Agarwal, Director at HAB Pharma. Among its upcoming products is Vonoprazan, a next-generation treatment for acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. The company aims to be among the early manufacturers of the molecule after patent expiry. Clinical studies have shown Vonoprazan to provide significantly higher patient relief compared to existing alternatives. The pipeline also includes semaglutide, bempedoic acid, dofasitinib and topical formulations, reflecting the company's focus on chronic disease management and differentiated therapies, said Saurabh Agarwal.
Strengthening Its Position in GLP-1 Therapies
GLP-1 therapies are expected to be a major growth driver for HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited. The company is investing in semaglutide research to develop high-quality, bioequivalent formulations while expanding access beyond metropolitan cities into Tier II and last-mile markets, said Saurabh Agarwal. Beyond addressing obesity and metabolic disorders, GLP-1 therapies are increasingly being explored for their potential to reduce obesity-related complications and improve fertility outcomes. By investing in formulation innovation and wider market access, HAB aims to build a differentiated position in this rapidly expanding therapeutic segment. The company's new sterile manufacturing facility is expected to strengthen production capacity and regulatory readiness as demand for these therapies continues to grow, added Urvee Garg.
Investing in R&D and Manufacturing Excellence
Innovation remains at the core of HAB's long-term strategy. The company is expanding its R&D capabilities with a focus on complex generics, peptide-led innovation, and advanced drug delivery systems while establishing a new research facility in Vasai to accelerate product development and commercialization, said Urvee Garg. Its manufacturing expansion also includes sterile injectable blocks, automated OSD facilities, and segregated beta-lactam and cephalosporin units. Alongside these investments, HAB is implementing digital quality management and compliance systems to improve regulatory efficiency, maintain product quality, and accelerate market entry for complex formulations, added Urvee Garg.
Merger Strengthens Integrated Capabilities
The merger of HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited with Signature Phytochemical Industries has created an integrated pharmaceutical entity valued at approximately ₹600 crore. The combined business has expanded manufacturing capabilities across tablets, capsules, creams, and specialized formulations while improving operational efficiency and governance, said Urvee Garg. The integration is also expected to accelerate the development of pharmaceutical and phytochemical products, strengthen export readiness, and support therapies for respiratory, autoimmune, and chronic conditions.
Driving Global Growth Through Quality and Accessibility
To support its international expansion, HAB continues to strengthen its regulatory capabilities through compliance with WHO-GMP, cGMP, ISO 9001, and PIC/S standards while progressing toward EU-GMP certification. Dedicated regulatory teams support faster approvals across export markets such as Nigeria, Uganda, and Iraq, while automated manufacturing systems improve documentation, quality monitoring, and process consistency, enabling the efficient introduction of complex molecules such as semaglutide, said Urvee Garg. The company has also established a strong presence in emerging markets, including Nigeria, Afghanistan, and Yemen, through cost-efficient manufacturing, local distribution partnerships, tiered pricing, flexible packaging, and integrated CDMO capabilities. Patient-focused delivery formats such as oral jellies, aerosols, and Bag-on-Valve systems further support broader access to affordable medicines in low- and middle-income countries, according to Saurabh Agarwal.
Looking Ahead
Backed by investments in advanced manufacturing, research and development, regulatory excellence, and specialty pharmaceuticals, HAB Pharmaceuticals & Research Limited is building a scalable platform for sustainable growth. With expanded manufacturing capabilities at HAB Pharma Selaqui, a growing pipeline of complex formulations, and an increasing focus on GLP-1 therapies, the company is well positioned to strengthen its presence in India while expanding its reach across global pharmaceutical markets, said Saurabh Agarwal.
